In Oct. 2008, a work group for preparing the alumni association of ZUA was appointed after the Party Committee decided to hold a celebration on the university’s 60thanniversary on Oct. 21, 2009. On Sept. 8, 2009 the ZUA Alumni Website was open, being a platform for relations and exchanges between the alumni and their alma mater. In Sept. 18, 2009 the ZUA Alumni Association was founded after being rectified by the Civil Affairs Department of Henan Province, being a legal organization. So far 10 branches of the Association have been set up in Tianjin, Hubei, Hunan, Shandong, Shanghai, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Hebei and Southern Henan since the first one was established in Tianjin in May 2008.
The Association is committed to carrying on the legacy of ZUA, contacting alumni from home and abroad, carrying out various kinds of activities, communicating alumni and enhancing their sense of togetherness and cohesion. It introduces ZUA’s latest development to the alumni, to help them understand their alma mater better and deepen the communication and cooperation between them in teaching and research. It always encourages the alumni to make great achievements in their work.
The Alumni Association Office was set up as a special agency to deal with alumni affairs. Its aim is to strengthen contacts and communications between alumni and their alma mater so as to achieve common development, establish good image of the university, carry on its excellent traditions and contribute to its future prosperity.
