School of Management and Engineering
The School of Management and Engineering has a staff of 36 people, including 6 professors and 9 associate professors. 10 of them have obtained doctoral degrees, and 19 with Master’s degrees. The school has 3 teaching and research sections, including Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Reliability Engineering. It also holds a Management Engineering Laboratory Center, consisting of 5 laboratories (the Basic Industrial Engineering Lab, the Modern Industrial Engineering Lab, the Human Factors Engineering, the Production System Lab and the Quality Engineering Lab). The school has 4 undergraduate programs: Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering (Civil Aviation-targeted), Quality Engineering, and Security Engineering. The School currently has 1,314 students. Industrial Engineering was listed as the national special major, and its teaching team has won the title of Excellent Teaching Team in Henan Province. Management Science and Engineering were listed as key disciplines in Henan Province and the Management Engineering Laboratory Center is a demonstration lab center in Henan Province.
The school has the authorization to award master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering. There are 9 mentors to recruit postgraduate students in the field of Advanced Manufacturing Technology Management and Quality Management and Quality Engineering.
The school used to be the Department of Industrial Engineering founded in 1994. It always seeks to place teaching in the first place while encouraging scientific research. Till now, our teachers have completed numerous projects, including 1 national Outstanding Youth Fund project, 12 National Natural Science Fund projects, and more than 30 projects subsidized by the related departments at the provincial and ministerial levels etc.. Their work was greatly rewarded by receiving more than 10 awards at the national, provincial and ministerial level. Its teachers have published high quality papers annually. 30 papers have been indexed by EI and ISTP. 40 papers have been awarded first prize for being excellent papers in natural science by Henan Province.
The School of Management and Engineering is the talents cultivation base for Aviation Industry Corporation of China. We have being offering various training programs. Up to now, there have been more than 100 postgraduates, and over 800 undergraduates (including 500 three-year undergraduates) who have graduated from our school to work in China’s aviation industry. We also provide senior vocational training classes for more than 4,000 people. Adult education in our school has cultivated more than 400 undergraduates from Henan and other provinces in China.
Our school is also a training base for rural electricians in Henan Province, which satisfies the demands by the related enterprises. The School of Management Science and Engineering is actively evolved in practical teaching projects and vigorously carry out extracurricular activities to enhance students’ overall quality. We have build stable practice bases in Guizhou, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Hunan, Sichuan, Guangdong, Henan and other provinces. Students of the school have won many awards in domestic and international competitions, such as the second prize in China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling, the Award of Excellence in “Challenge Cup” Competition of Science Achievement in China, and the second prize award in ERP National Contest. The school has always been the advanced unit in ZUA for its high employment rate. In recent years, employment rate for our graduates majoring in industrial engineering remains a steady 100%. In recent years, there are over one hundred students who have been admitted to Xi'an Jiaotong University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, BUAA and other key universities in China t purse further education.
