Seattle Northwest University’s Vice-president Ken Cornell Paid a Visit to ZUA

On the morning of March 8th, Seattle Northwest University’s vice-president Ken Cornell and his team members came to visit our university. Vice-president Hongjun Hao met with Ken Cornell at Room A409 of East Campus’s Administrative Building. Other attendees included directors of related organizations such as International Cooperation and Exchanges Department, School of Computing, Foreign Language Department, School of Aeronautical Engineering and so forth. The two parties made talks on developing cooperation and exchanges and then signed a framework agreement on intercollegiate exchanges.

Hongjun Hao extended welcome to Ken Cornell and his team members, briefing them on our school’s history, subject settings, preponderant disciplines, international cooperation and exchanges and other aspects. He advised that our university could cooperate with Northwest University on the exchange of students of Business Studies, exchange of teaching staff and cooperation on running school.

Ken Cornell expressed great thanks for our warm reception and then introduced subject settings and student cultivation of Northwest University. Northwest University has always been promoting the international flow of teachers and students by means of developing international cooperation, thus has established a mature mode of cooperation which could serve as a foundation for diversified cooperation of both parties at the stage of undergraduate and postgraduate.

During the meeting they also conducted a meaningful communication and eventually reached an agreement on further cooperation. Based on the agreement, students of School of Computing, Aeronautical Engineering, Foreign Languages Department and some other departments may go to Northwest University on a short-term exchange program during summer, teachers from ZUA may also go abroad to conduct academic activities.

   

   

Established in 1934, Seattle Northwest University is an unprofitable private university recognized by Association of American Universities. It covers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate and diploma courses. In the form of small-size class teaching, there are 22 students on average in one class, and the teacher-student ratio has reached thirteen to one. Apart from this, its preponderant disciplines are as follows: Business Administration, Pedagogy, Nursing, Music Producing and Mass Media.
