School of Humanities and Social Sciences

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences fosters 4 undergraduate majors: Chinese Language and Literature, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Administration Management, and Public Service Management. Among its 39 faculty, 33 are teaching staff. 14 of them are professors or associate professors. 16 teachers have obtained doctoral degree. The school currently accommodates over one thousand students.

The school now undertakes three major tasks for ZUA. First, it should carry out construction and teaching tasks in the aforementioned four majors. Second, it teaches such basic courses as Chinese Literature to all students in ZUA. Third, it undertakes social and humanistic research projects at different levels. There are 3 teaching and research sections, namely Administration Management, Public Service Management and Chinese Language and Literature, and 2 research institutes (one for Market Economy and Culture, and the other for Chinese Culture and Literature).  The schools library has a collection of 9,000 books and issues. Among them, there are 5,000 Chinese back issues, and 100 current issues. They provide substantial rich resources for the schools discipline construction, and its needs in teaching and research.

It sticks to its commitments to society and students, and follows the education idea of cultivating students into upright citizen and qualified personnel.
