On May 31thNigel Copner, chief professor and famous scholar of Wireless and Photoelectron Innovation Center of the University of South Wales came to visit our university. Directors from School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, School of Science took part in the symposium, which was hosted by Xinxin Yang, head of International Cooperation and Exchange Department.
Xinxin Yang extended a warm welcome to Professor Nigel Copner’s visit. She said that our university was at a critical moment for development, thus was urgent to strengthen ties with well-known international universities and famous scholars for cooperation and exchange among students, teachers and universities. Meanwhile, vice director of International Cooperation and Exchanges Department Zubing Huang gave a brief introduction of the history, schooling scale, featured specialty and international exchanges of ZUA. Professor Copner expressed his thanks for the hospitality he received and presented the specific situation of the University of South Wales in details, including its geographical location, long history, preponderant disciplines and so on. He also believed that both universities had much in common in terms of Engineering, Management and other subjects and consequently there would be a huge space for cooperation.
In their talks, the two parties developed a deep discussion and then reached an agreement on the project of cooperation in running a school, cultivation of teaching staff, the cooperation of scientific research, exchange of students and other aspects, which are supported by the University of South Wales and ZUA. After the meeting, accompanied by directors of School of Electronic and Communication Engineering, Mr. Nigel Copner communicated and interacted with students.
